Delayed accusations – when they are politically useful. Cry Foul!

Yesterday, the Washington Post published this article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/10/AR2007081002403.html/trackback/ in which people accuse Bush’s former speechwriter of plagiarism.

Why?

If they noted plagiarism, why not call it out when it occurs? Why wait until he’s in the news (Gerson has a book coming out next month)? This is cowardice at its peak. This is turning a grudge into a moneymaker. It’s enough to make one’s blood boil.

I’m sure the fad didn’t start with Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas, but it sure seems to have exploded since then. Wait until a politically expedient time, then start dishing dirt.

Why do the politically connected have to start grievance resolution in the news? Is it the only way they can get attention?
