I gots some learnin’ to do

John Brownlee is running for Virginia Attorney General.  He states on his site:

An important part of Brownlee’s Civil Justice reforms will be to repeal House Bill (HB) 172.

I went to the Virginia Attorney General site recently.  I don’t recall anything about the Attorney General being able to pass or repeal laws.  (Mind you, this one should be repealed; it requires citizens, after an accident,  to disclose to personal injury lawyers the maximum amount of their  motor vehicle or personal liability insurance coverages — before filing a lawsuit.)

Cuccinelli has made similar statement – how he’ll stop abortion and insist on “traditional” marriages and various other actions – that’s why I went to the AG site before.

I really don’t want a legislator in the AG slot.

But I have to do a lot of reading to find out where exactly the AG’s responsibilities end.  And so far there are 3 Republicans running for AG; don’t know how many Democrats or others will be in.  Voting for any of the declared candidates so far will be a “hold my nose and vote”, so I sure hope someone supportable comes along.

  1. Just wait till you see the videos from the last VCDL meeting. *Some* of the repub candidates who spoke promised the moon, others were more reserved about what they saw themselves doing if elected. Video links will be in an upcoming VA alert.
