Let the electorate elect their representative

The Shad Plank: Phil Hamilton’s name removed from RPV website.

The Republican Party — a bastion of integrity, I’m certain — wants to make the choice for the voters of Newport News, VA.

Now, this guy may be a slimeball.  Frankly, I don’t care.  It’s up to the voters of his district to determine whether or not they want him representing them in the House of Delegates.  Other slimeballs have been elected.  Look, NY chose Hillary Clinton.  DC chooses (over and over again) Marion Barry.  The voters speak.

Until and unless the man is convicted of a felony (in which case he’s ineligible to hold office in the GA, per Virginia law), his constituents, and NOT the Republican Party of Virginia, are the ones supposed to make the choice.

That’s how our country works.  Voters choose.
